Children, parents, and community members lined the isles of St. Patrick Church on June 27,2023 in attendance for Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School's (DLEACS) celebration of its eighth-grade students.

DLEACS alum, '19 Cherish Buxton was the keynote address at the graduation. The high school senior will be attending Harvard University in the fall. Cherish's speech highlighted the opportunity DLEACS that afforded her at the start in the school in seventh grade.

Seventeen categories of awards were given to students including those for educational excellence, academic excellence, principal's awards, Clark Terry Award for music and Garlin Family Award.

DLEACS' in-person ceremony was marked by pomp and circumstance performed by the members of the school's band. Nayana Baptiste was named salutatorian.

On graduation day, Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School students stood proud of the hard work behind them, confident in the classmates beside them, and prepared for the future in front of them. We wish them luck in their future endeavors!
