The widely anticipated Michael E. Maher (MEM) Learning Center completes the three building campus offering a wide-ranging academic experience in science and musical arts.
Foremost contributor, Maher Family Foundation including M. Brian Maher, his wife, Sandy, brother, Basil and son, Michael participated in the 2015 unveiling.
The learning center enriches the school curriculum as it presents children with opportunities for teamwork, hands-on learning, social interaction, real-life problem solving and to work on open-ended activities. Accordingly, students who need more time to internalize information benefit because the Center provides a more individualized lesson than one in a classroom setting.
The focal point of the Center’s activities range from music and arts to science, technology, engineering and math (STEAM) activities.
The addition to the curriculum has inspired students to learn and succeed. Since the installation, students have medaled in three out of five competitions including second place in the 2016 Estemia competition at the New Jersey Science Olympiad.
