“Our scholars make us special…we lead, teach, guide and partner for them. “
As a New Jersey public school, DLEACS charges no tuition. Admission to Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School is open to all interested students seeking enrollment in Grades K through 8 on a space‐available basis without regard to sex, race, color, creed, religion, national origin, intellectual or athletic ability, measures of achievement or aptitude, status as a handicapped person, proficiency in the English language, or any other basis prohibited by public school regulations.
At DLEACS we insist on calling all of our students “scholars” starting in Kindergarten. We know high levels of student achievement takes work—and we know even our youngest ones are ready. For every high expectation, we also offer high levels of support. Our rigorous program is complemented by clear expectations for engaged learning, data-driven instruction, and a wide range of support services offered to our scholars, their families, and the community we serve. We provide programs and education supporting cultural literacy, exposing scholars and the community to the wider culture and to issues and challenges of the day.
“We are leading, teaching, guiding and partnering with scholars and families to navigate the world.”
The theme of the Dr. Lena Edwards Academic Charter School is: A Classical Learning Experience of Content‐Rich Academics, Cultural Literacy, and Character Education.
