The Real Farm to School

Farm trips are more than an abstract notion; the excursion is a hands-on experience so that children can truly understand, with all their senses.

The K-3 trip to Von Thun Farms offered students an opportunity to touch, smell, and taste things they are learning. The tractor-drawn hayrides tour around the 155-acre working farm spawned educational talks about the crops. Friendly farm animals were popular with students and provided a unique learning experience for all. The highlight of the fall tour was a visit to the pumpkin patch, where students picked a sugar pumpkin to take home.

Smiles are abounding this fall. Please take a look at our farm trip pictures here!
