Executive Order for Child Care Centers in New Jersey

The New Jersey Department of Children and Families is continuing to monitor the spread of the COVID-19 Coronavirus and its impact on children, and families, staff and partner providers, throughout the state. The federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the New Jersey Department of Health are providing ongoing guidance and direction regarding necessary precautions and action plans.

Executive Order 110 mandates that all childcare centers in New Jersey must close EXCEPT for: 

Centers registered with DCF to provide care to children of COVID-19 Essential Personnel 

• Home-based centers serving five or fewer children 

• Centers on federal property such as military bases

Parents and guardians in need of child care can contact the Child Care Resource and Referral Agency in their county. CCR&Rs will have the most up to date information on available care options and subsidies.
