Kids are People too!

Fire Fighter Student

AAA's Pedestrian Safety Program was presented to students at DLEACS' in order to teach them principles of safety. Otto the Truck help spread the word about safe walking and bicycling. This national program was well received by our students, engaged them in learning about traffic safety principles and allowed everyone opportunities to share that knowledge with peers.

At our vibrant assembly for fire safety, the Jersey City Fire Department taught students the purpose of dialing 911, never to play with matches or candles, and the importance of smoke detectors in their homes. They were also reminded "do not hide, but go outside" to be safe in a fire. Not to disappoint, our firefighter host demonstrated Stop, Drop, and Roll. At the conclusion of the assembly students in Kindergarten received shiny red fireman hats.

Thank you to AAA and to the Jersey City Fire Department!
