DLEACS' Community Health fair offered a unique opportunity to engage families in the community to address health concerns away from the sterility of an office and in a relaxed group setting. From soothing back massages to confidential HIV screenings (and many things in between) twenty six  vendors offered stage set, preventative screenings and consultations to attendees.

This approach was a successful attempt to assure individuals be comforted by knowing others in the group share the same concerns that they do. 

It also worked to get a simple message of "reclaiming our health" across — and may very well have pushed those in pre- contemplation stage squarely into action.  

DLEACS' community health fair was a successful health promotion on the part of our own, Nurse Garcia and our dedicated school staff  including Mrs. Slack, Mrs. Gurczeski, Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Labrador, Mr. Dally, Ms. W., Mr. P, Officer Sawyer and Mrs. Cenizal who helped to make the event a most memorable occasion.
